US decides to implement 10 fingerprint system to boost up the security

In a new development the United States is gearing up to tighten its security. It has decided to implement 10 fingerprints security system. Though it will make things little difficult for the foreigners. The country has planned to set up various fingerprint scanners on the airports. Once the foreign visitors arrive in the U.S, they will be supposed to give their 10 digital fingerprints on these scanners. The plan is not yet implemented and is under testing at several places. The new program is currently being tested at the John F Kennedy Airport in New York, Chicago’s O’Hare and Washington Dulles International. The new system of 10 fingerprints will replace the current system that requires two fingerprints and a photograph. Besides the airports the new system is also being tested in several US embassies abroad, including Brussels. The new system of 10-fingerprints will apply to travelers from European Union (EU) nations and other countries that have the US visa waiver program along with the visitors from others countries who need visas to visit the US. The US-VISIT program will provide the required technology and fingerprint analysis to the new system. The fingerprints then will be checked against US watch lists. Border checks will also be very early upgraded and will have other biometric data, such as facial and retina scans. US has considerably tightened its borders since the September 11, 2001 attacks, when terrorists hijacked and crashed four passenger airplanes into the World Trade Center in New York City, killing nearly 3,000 people.
