This is a bad news for people from developing countries who think of US as their dream destination to work or live. In a recent change in the immigration policy of US, acquiring US citizenship will become more expensive. So, if you are planning for immigrating to US then you need to rush because after July 30, the fees to apply for a green card will almost triple, from $395 to $1010, to get US citizenship you will have to pay $675.

While commenting on this raise in Citizenship and Immigration Services fee, USCIS Director Emilio Gonzalez said,
we need the money to support the service, to do nothing is to invite organizational disaster, because we are just not covering the cost of doing business.
Effects of this fee hike on immigrants:
Only rich people will be able to apply for green card. In other words I can say US doors are open for only wealthy people, not for the poors.
The fee hike will definitely prohibit immigrants who are earning $5.15 an hour will hardly be able to apply for green card.
Strongly condemning the move of USCIS, the National Association of Latino Elected Officials said,
The higher fees will put the dream of U.S. citizenship beyond the reach of many of our nation’s newcomers. The USCIS does need to make major investments to enhance the delivery of its services, and it does face serious fiscal challenges, however, placing the full costs of these investments on the back of hardworking newcomers is driving fees to a level that immigrants simply cannot afford.
Surely this move will make qualified immigrants to search for other locations like UK, Australia and even they may think of to settle in Arab countries.
