Something’s strange about the areas of Manhattan; it wears perfume every now and then. A couple of years ago the whole city smelled like maple syrup! However, this time it is no perfume. There’s unpleasant sulfur scent that typically signals a gas leak. Extraordinarily, the source of the odor, as of last night, city officials still did not know and interestingly this is happening in a country where the president can even open Americans’ mail without a judge’s warrant, to protect human life and safety against hazardous materials.

Surely, this was not the worst-case scenario but it was no less than that. Those who thought the odor was tied to some sort of terrorist plot were quite logical. Officials were reluctant to discuss terrorism precautions in detail, but they said that the city regularly monitors the air with machines that can detect the presence of chemical, biological or radiological substances.

The officials were not able to detect the source of the odor and this makes it debatable that is America,(the most powerful and the most advanced in technologies), ready to guard its people against Bio-terrorism?
