In an unusual step, President George W. Bush cited a pair of Iraqi bloggers on Wednesday to try to bolster his case that his troop buildup in Iraq is making progress.

Bush quoted the bloggers as writing-

Displaced families are returning home, marketplaces are seeing more activity, stores that were long shuttered are now reopening.

It’s hardly encouraging.

In fact, for now, it is really more of a trickle to reassure a nervous nation that U.S. and Iraqi forces circulating in Baghdad are making a difference but slowly of course.

Here one should not forget the fact that President of America George W. Bush is renowned for faith-based rather than fact-based decisions and also for making delusional decisions.

It is right that one should believe Mr. Bush as he cited a pair of Iraqi dentists who write an English-language blog, Iraqthemodel.com, and surely they must know more than any one else what the ground reality is and also the blog is generally sympathetic to the American-led mission in Iraq.
Yes, Mr. Bush is right that U.S. and Iraqi forces circulating in Baghdad were making a difference but they are making a difference only in Baghdad as nearly all of them are deployed in the capital while at the same time, Sunni insurgents have escalated their operations elsewhere. While sectarian attacks in Baghdad are down, deaths of Iraqi civilians and U.S. troops have increased outside the capital.

And this is why Mohammed Fadhil( the same Iraqi Blogger) wrote last Friday that the Iraqi government needs to speed up reconciliation efforts and that the Bush administration “needs to revise the way it’s been handling and planning for this critical war.”
