If Watergate had any lesson, it was that when someone connected to the White House is heading for a prison. The 2-1/2 year sentence imposed on former White House aide Lewis ‘Scooter’ Libby today puts President Bush into a delicate and a dangerous situation if he talks of pardoning Libby or even thinking close to it.
Still most of us are listening to our ever-growing heartbeat and waiting for Bush to come up with another ridiculous decision of pardoning Libby. We all know that the Republican leadership is composed of a bunch of hypocrites that broke one of the world’s most influential and progressive country into tribalism.
Anyways, Lewis ‘Scooter’ Libby has put President Bush in the position of making a decision he has tried to avoid for months but now the time is ripe: Either trigger a fresh political storm by pardoning a convicted perjurer or let one of the early architects of his administration head to prison. Till Bush decides Libby’s fate, we can keep hyperventilating.
