911 wtc attacks by al qaeda
The 9/11 attacks left millions of questions that continue remaining answered, even as the US pays homage to its victims on their sixth anniversary. The war on terror too continues unabated, victimizing several innocents, being victimized itself sometimes. Yet, the man behind the gruesome attacks remains at large, issuing video threats from his hideouts that even the war on terror has failed to expose. As U.S. remembers its victims tomorrow, may I ask will the war on terror continue victimizing innocents or the terrorists waging war be ever nabbed? Both remain intriguing questions that every responsible citizen seems to ask the U.S., the answer to which seems to elude.

It’s been six years since four U.S. aircrafts crashed into the towering WTC towers, killing thousands of Americans, Asians and Europeans, ever since George W Bush waged the war on terror to smoke ‘em out along with his NATO allies, few siding others parting. It’s also been six years, the man called Osama bin Laden remains hiding in his den or safe haven, even though many of his compatriots have evaporated, escaped or vanished from the scene of action, while others are fighting it out against the NATO forces, bombarding and terrorizing humanity, making the earth a difficult place to live in. And I don’t think that the war on terror, already being condemned by the American citizens has succeeded in trampling terrorism. After 9/11/01, the U.S. has had so many casualties in the war that every ordinary American seems to be questioning the effervescent Bush regime as to when will the war come to a halt and how many more lives are going to be sacrificed at the war front?

Iraq and Afghanistan-a similar story

The war on terror began to bring peace to Afghanistan, yet terror continues lingering in the land of the mullah, where abductions and slaughter of foreigners by the Taliban make headlines daily. So can Afghanistan be branded a peaceful country now? No way, the number of terror incidents has only amplified, posing dangerous signals for the civilians to breathe, terrifying and torturing them. And Iraq remains a similar sad tale of bombings, civil strife, sectarian violence and huge casualties. Where is peace, Mr Bush? Or I ask, will there be peace after all? Neither Afghanistan nor Iraq comes under Bush success story. If there is anything that has succeeded is the increase in number of victims, both dead and maimed, both of the war and the terrorism. Anything to say, Mr Bush?
